Ann Peters hired as project manager

There were 35 people that applied for the position “project manager for Katla Geopark’s science-tourism project. After reviewing applications and conducting interviews, the decision was made to hire Ann I. Peters for the position.

Ann graduated with a B.A. degree from Lourdes College in Ohio, USA and has worked as a manager in several companies. She also owns and runs her own company, Iceland Wedding Planner, and has been involved in developing and setting up several different companies and tours related to tourism in Iceland.

Katla Geopark welcomes Ann to the group and looks forward to tackling the project with her. The project's main goal is to support the operation of the geopark and to promote the development of specialist jobs in the area. The project aims to develop and launch products in the form of "travel packages or tours" that include the participation of customers/tourists in research projects organized by the geopark. Those trips will be developed and marketed in collaboration with travel operators in the region.
