Students studying tourism visited Katla Geopark

Katla Geopark and Katla Centre were visited last Friday by a group of students from the University of Iceland, when they stopped by at Katla Centre in Vík in Mýrdal. The visit is part of the course “Tourism and the Environment” (LAN308G), which is taught by Professor Rannveig Ólafsdóttir at the University of Iceland, and her students have visited the geopark every fall for the past few years. The students were introduced to both the work of Katla Geopark and Katla Centre and good discussions arose about the various issues related to tourism and culture during the visit. The geopark would like to thank Rannveig and her students for a pleasant visit. In the accompanying photo, you can see the group of students, together with Rannveig on the far right, in front of the mural at the Hafnleysa museum in Vík.
