The profiles in Víkurfjara beach measured for the 10th time in the Víkurfjara beach project.
The Víkurfjara beach project continued last Wednesday when students from the 9th and 10th grade of Víkurskóli elementary school measured the five profiles on Víkurfjara beach and the location of the beach ridge. This is the 10th time that the profiles were measured and the third time the beach ridge is measured, as the ridge is only measured once a year whereas the profiles are measured four times a year. The measurements went well, and the weather was not too bad. The opportunity was used to have a look at the new coastal defense wall that is being built east of Vík as well. You can read more about the Víkurfjara beach project here and see the results from the student’s measurements, and photos from the measurements can be found here.
